Abida Parveen (The Queen of Sufi Music) name meant to be the cluster of stars gathered at a place and people to worship them. Same is the case with the most versatile and the worlds mystic singer of Sufi Music (Sufiana Kalam). Abida Parveen is Pakistan’s only queen by birth with the richest music legacy.
Abida Parveen was born on 20 February 1954. She was born and raised in Larkana in a Sindhi Sufi Family. She did masters degree from Sindh.
Abida Parveen plays many musical instruments like pump organ, sitar, and keyboard.
Abida Parveen Firstly Performed Live when she was Just 3 Years old.
she achieved her first break in radio Pakistan with a Sindhi song “tujinje zulfan jay band kamand widha”.
She always promotes Pakistani culture in the world with her clothing style. Abida Parveen wears long and simple frocks with Coat, Ajrak , and traditional Sindhi dupatta.
Abida did her first global concert in the early 90s in California. People admired her and appreciated her performance. In 1990s she performed at sultana Siddique’s “awazo andaz” left listeners mesmerized with her unique and devotional voice.
Abida concerts in US, UK and FRANCE proved and give her huge success. She is spreading a peace Sufism through her music.
In 1988 She performed live in Chicago. The show was recorded at Hazrat Amir khusru Society of Art and Culture. BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation recorded her Performance in London’s Wembley Hall and aired for an hour.
She gave her performance in coke studio with few songs and Kalam. The divine voice of Abida Parveen brings people towards this show.
Abida was part of coke studio with numerus songs like Aaqa, moula-i-kull, and mein sufi hoon. & “Ae Rah e Haq k Shaheedo”.
Abida Parveen was the judge in indo-pak reality show “Sur Kshetra” along with Ayesha Bhosle and Runa Laila. She was a guest judge in Pakistani reality show Pakistan Idol.
She was designated as Peace Ambassador in SAARC in 2017.
Her famous Kalam is “mien nara-e-mustana”,”Aray Logo Tumhara Kya” and “yar ko hum ny jabaja dekha”.

Pakistan government gave her second’s highest civilian award “Hilal-e-Imtiaz” by President of Pakistan in 2012 and Pride of Performance award in 1984.the president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf gave her “Sitara-e-Imtiaz” award in 2005.
